Lift Your Spirit Night Owls

Tweetily-Doodle Everyone,
I finally found the time to make some Night Owl Pillows with my Lift Your Spirit collection. The kids were so excited to help stuff the pillows and name them. The blue owl is named Midnight Martin and the yellow is named Butterfly Boop. Then we ran around the yard taking silly pictures. I was happy with the eyes. I found felt buttons and layered two sizes for extra dimension. It was fun to pick the color combinations.

Garden Exploration

We find a reason for putting on our boots as we walk through the vegetable garden maze. If only it was muddier for Chloe and Chet; they like the sound of the squishy mud under their protected feet. I take a moment to photograph a beautiful daisy. A surprise moment occurs, a butterfly flutters by and lands on a Candium hybrid lilly. I get a chance to photograph this butterfly close up.

Lift Your Spirit Craft Pockets

Here is my latest project. I made a Lift Your Spirit Craft Pocket Wall-Hanging. The pockets are great for storing everything from markers, dvd's, small paper pads, little toys, hats and more. If you flip the Wall Hanging over, it becomes an art backdrop for your children's latest artwork. If anyone is interested in getting basic instructions, let me know.

Lift Your Spirit Fabric

If you are looking to create this quilt with my Lift Your Spirit Collection, here are some quilt shops that may be close to you or on-line stores that are carrying this line. This quilt was designed by Heidi Pridemore. Quilters out there, I would love to show off you and your designs.

Unplanned Pumpkin Surprise

Well, here it is an unplanned pumpkin planting. With all the storms and rain, we hadn't gone in the back yard for a few days and then magically, there it was a four foot span of pumpkin leaves! I guess last year after Halloween, I put an old pumpkin in the garden and through the winter a little seed found it's way into the soil and rooted itself. We have never had a pumpkin growing in our back yard. I am excited.

Inspiration Journals

One of the things I have done for years is create my own collage journals for inspiration. I love looking at the color combinations and textures. If you ever have writer's block or artist's block, go through magazines or the web to open your mind to new possibilities.

World Choir Games in Cincinnati, Ohio

The World Choir Games will be taking place in Cincinnati, Ohio in 2012. Over 40 countries are coming to Cincinnati to compete. Along with the singing competition is a mascot competition to represent the World Choir Games. I decided to enter. I am among the winners, winning the Creativity Award. I thought the Parakeets made sense as they are beautiful singers and barber shop quartets are historically a great way to represent the USA. Here are my sketches and computer illustrations of the Parakeet Quartet I did. I look forward to attending the competition!

All Things Good Classy Apron

How about this classy apron made by Pam Adkins? I love the turned down pocket and the daisy trim. I think this apron has a "retro-now" feel, don't you? Well, time to think and brainstorm my new fabric collections. Have a great day!

All Things Good Inspiration

When developing my All Things Good collection, I was sparked by the cleanliness of Blue & White. I started thinking about white roosters and Delft ceramics and all things white in the kitchen. Thinking of sugar, cream, eggs, daisies and the fresh, content feelings of morning. My mind began to wander and wonder about what meals, time spent with family and friends around the kitchen symbolized? Hence the collection name, All Things Good came to be. Other phrases sprung up as I painted the icons for this group: Good Blessings, Good Health, Good talks, Good Times, Good Cook.... Here is one of the first patterns I developed in creating this collection.

Nature's Beauty

While my little ones run around playing in the sprinkler, I take a moment to plant and photograph some of the flowers in our garden. When thinking of my newest collections, I find nature to be one place I go to for inspiration...the beauty of the petals and the contrast of colors against the background make the flowers pop. I look forward to the evolution of ever-changing gardens.

All Things Good Placemat 3

Hi Friends,
It is fun exploring the amazing possibilities with my All Things Good fabric. In this particular placemat, I thought it would be fun to add a brown accent loop stitch to the frame. The motif's quote says, "A cup of coffee shared with a friend is happiness tasted and time well spent." Just a little reminder to cherish those moments.

All Things Good Placemats 2

Hi Friends,
My placemat project continues with some more options for using the All Things Good fabric. I bought red gingham ribbon as an accent trim to border the exterior frame. I think this collection would be great to decorate for July 4th parties, enjoy!

Hi Friends,
I would like to present one my newest collections licensed to Timeless Treasures called All Things Good. All Things Good is a fresh take on country charm, perfect for kitchen decorating for wall hangings, table runners, aprons, and more. With the timelessness of Delft products as the inspiration, this brings me back to my Dutch heritage spending time at my grandparent’s home in Pennsylvania. All Things Good is a reminder of the crisp mornings, good coffee, daytime tea and fresh daisies. These fabrics will brighten your day and touch your heart with life’s goodness. I look forward to featuring any quilter's creations using All Things Good fabric.

Look for the Timeless Treasures booth at the Utah Quilt market where it will be featured. This fabric can be found at your local quilt shops and on-line stores now.
