Sweet Summer dresses by Curious Georgia

Hi Friends,
You know what is fun? Designing new fabric collections. I just love it! You know what is even more fun? Seeing collections, like Sweet Summer, developed into cute dresses, aprons, totes and quilts. Here are some really cute dresses made by Etsy Shop, Curious Georgia, LTD. I have had the pleasure of working with Heather, the owner on two of my collections and it has been a joy. I asked Heather to tell us a little about herself.

Hi! My name is Heather and I am a California mom to three adorable little girls and wife to my very supportive hubby. I learned to sew at an early age when my mom taught me the basics on her Kenmore sewing machine from Sears. I have dabbled in sewing my entire life but didn’t start creating my own unique designs until I had three girls to dress.
Curious Georgia LTD. is a clothing line with the motto…"cute clothes for curious kids." We all know how curious kids can get and this means getting dirty and playing hard. My clothes are all made from designer fabrics…mostly of 100% cotton. These fabrics wash up nicely even when splattered with paint, mud, or even strawberry jam.
I hope you find something you can’t live without as you browse my shop. And if you don’t then send me a message and together we can create something fantastic for your little one!

Here are the dresses listed in my shop:

These cute dresses are for sale! Warning: You will crave ice cream. Check out the variety of clothes made by Curious Georgia. Special thanks to Mi-lolli for her photography.

Per my kid's request, I have made a cheetah pillow for Chet and a piggy for Chloe. I added to my assignment, that I should use fabric that are from my collections. I used my Lift Your Spirit collection for the cheetah and used fabric paint to make the black dots. For Chloe's piggy, I used a little of the Sweet Summer collection, as well as Lift Your Spirit.

Sweet Summer Fabric by Wendy Bentley

Vacations, swimming pools and walking into our favorite Ice Cream Soda Shop smelling the sweet air of ice cream and hot fudge. Those were the nostalgic days of summer and they are here again in this fun collection called Sweet Summer. The Ice cream Patch fabric reminds us to enjoy summer with sweet sentiment like, “Treat Yourself to Simple Pleasures” and “Sprinkle your day with Sweetness”. This fabric would be great for quilted picnic blankets, summer parties, cloth napkins and little girl sun-hats and dresses. I am looking forward to seeing some wonderful children's clothing designer's work (soon to be posted). Look for Sweet Summer on-line or in your local quilt stores.

American Patchwork & Quilting—On Sale Aug 2nd

How about this amazing quilt made with my Lift Your Spirit fabric designed by Laura Boehnke, a quilt tester. This quilt is in the October issue of American Patchwork & Quilting—On Sale Aug 2nd. Laura chose 12 Pickle Dish blocks and 4 Lover's Knots that have both contrast in color and scale. I love how the scale creates dimension. Go to AllPeopleQuilt.com/545 to get instructions on this. Great job, Laura! If you are looking for Lift Your Spirit fabric licensed to Timeless Treasures, look in your local quilt shops or on-line.

Heather Bentley's Curious Georgia

Hello Folks out there! I am happy to show off these beautiful, "Lift Your Spirit" hats made by Heather Bentley, whom I have met through Etsy. Her store, Curious Georgia is a children's clothing shop full of "oh so cute" items. Here is a little about Heather and her philosophy on curiousgeorgia's clothes in her words...

I learned how to sew when I was a child...my mom patiently taught me. After having three girls I decided I better start sewing again. I love mixing fun fabrics to create unique items for curious kids to wear. Practical pieces are my specialty. I want my customers to wear the items I make to play in, get dirty in, and even look and feel pretty in. I live in northern california and am a teacher by trade. I am now a stay at home mom who loves creating things for little cuties.

Thank you for sharing your story, Heather. We look forward to seeing more of what you do!

Also, I would like to thank Mi Lolli Photography. When you get a chance, check out her blog and photography too!

Look for Lift Your Spirit collection, licensed to Timeless Treasures in your local quilt shops or on-line.

Tony's Garden

Tony, my wonderful husband tends to his parent's garden this summer. We call it "his" garden because he has put so much elbow grease and tender loving care into it. Tony's parents have had their garden for decades and so much wonderful healthy food and beauty have come from it. Canning tomatoes, snapping green beans and making jellies keep the whole family going throughout the year with delicious homegrown food. Chet and Chloe helped pick beans and made signs to give away some of the zucchini and squash. The green beans, zucchini, squash, okra, tomatoes, corn and peas are growing beautifully. I run around the garden helping the kids pick and taking photos of the beautiful zinnias. I am so happy that the kids get to be a part of the gardening process.

Dreams of Flowers Calendar

Tweetily Doodle to you!
Here is an affordable calendar you can find at Michael's Craft Store this month. It is a 16 month calendar, so you can start plugging in dates for next year while having some wall art to enjoy. These illustrations are a combination of many mediums that I did...original paintings, pen and ink doodles, collaged flowers (that my mom and I did together) and then I compiled the final compositions digitally. Each month has an inspirational message, like "Daydreaming is the sweet wonder of Summer," written by poets and other renowned persons. If you are looking for wall art with Dreams of Flowers, look for collections I have through Bentley Publishing GroupI hope these pieces inspire you to live a fulfilled life!
