Hi Everyone!
I recently attended a monthly Ohio Quilter's Guild meeting in June. One of my favorite parts of the meeting is to see the lovely quilts created by very talented women. An array of quilt artists talk a little about their creations which never cease to amaze me! During one of the "show-and-tells," to my surprise and excitement, I recognized my Lift Your Spirit fabric used by Laurey Patterson in her Wonkey Basket Quilt. I asked Laurey if I could highlight her on my blog. Here is a little bit about the Wonkey Basket Quilt in her words...
The Wonkey Basket Quilt was inspired by a pattern/article in American Quilter Sept. 2010 magazine called Liberated Baskets by Gwen Marston. Lift your Spirit fabric was perfect for the quilt. Brights seem to be what these baskets need. Then I went through my stash after I ordered Lift Your Spirit fabric to see what would compliment the brightness. Its fun to use many print backgrounds with something in common and neutral like blacks and whites. I was lucky I had enough black and white to make the background and border fabric I already had in my stash. I had made one to give-away and liked it so much, I made another. It was just a fun quilt to make with not a lot of rules.
Thank you, Laurey for sharing your story!
